Mike Gaddy, Site Manager Kraton
Just four months into his new position as Site Manager for Belpre’s Kraton plant, Mark Gaddy announced that the Ohio chemical plant would be creating and hiring approximately 25 new operator jobs and up to 12 technical and professional positions. The announcement was made at a press conference at the Belpre City Building on Thursday, July 15, 2010.
Kraton was the original inventor of styrenic block copolymer (SBC) chemistry in the 1960′s , and continues to lead the world in the production of SBC’s today. The chemical is included in many everyday items such as diapers, sticky notes, tape, motor oil, asphalt, adhesives and sealants, roofing products and much more. According to Gaddy, additional operators are needed to accelerate production, to keep up with increased demand for the product and to handle announced growth plans. ”In this economy, we are proud to produce a quality product that keeps us working and our business growing”, he said. ”We are looking for people who will commit to the strong work ethic and the safe operation of our plant demonstrated by our current team. The Kraton facility has been in Belpre since 1961, initially as a part of Shell Chemical and since March 1, 2001 as part of a stand-alone company.
