The Belpre Municipal Civil Service Commission will hold a COMPETIVE EXAMINATION at BELPRE SENIOR CENTER,1614 Washington Blvd., Belpre, on Saturday FEBRUARY 18, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of filling eligibility lists for the following job classification and for the following agency:

                CITY OF BELPRE–

Police Officer

Eligibility requirements for applicants are:

1. Be a U.S.citizen.

2. Between the ages of 21 and 35.

3. Possess a valid Ohio Drivers License.

4. Be a high school graduate, GED, or higher.

5. No criminal record/No serious traffic offenses.

6. OPOTA certified (with documents)

Upon completion and successfully passing the Civil Service examination and placed on the eligibility list:

He/she then must be able to:

1. Pass a stringent physical exam.

2. Pass an in-depth background investigation (criminal, financial)

3. Pass a polygraph test.

4. Submit to a psychological test.

5. Pass a physical agility test.

6. Sign an employment contract (explained at Initial interview).

Candidates desiring to take the above named examination must complete an application with all required documentation.  (NO RESUMES WILL BE ACCEPTED.)  Application must be mailed to the Civil Service Commission, P.O. Box 503, Belpre, Ohio 45714 and must be received by February 6, 2012, 4:00 p.m. 

Veterans must include a copy of their DD-214 with their application to be considered for Military Credit.  Credit for Military Service will be considered for all applicants with a passing score.

No one will be allowed to enter for testing beyond 30 minutes of when test time begins.

No Cell Phones are allowed in the test area.

Bring a valid driver’s license.

Failure to appear for any Civil Service Examination will result in the placement of your application in our inactive file.
