THE CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The Code Enforcement Department plays an essential role in keeping Belpre clean, safe, and well-maintained. Through routine inspections, responsive service, and consistent application of city codes, the department helps protect property values, support neighborhood pride, and ensure that our community remains a pleasant place to live, work, and visit.
Our Code Officer works diligently to address concerns, guide property owners, and promote voluntary compliance whenever possible. From reviewing zoning permits, managing high grass and debris complaints to ensuring that structures are properly maintained, the department focuses on education, communication, and collaboration.
Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4pm, excluding holidays.

Permits for the following must be obtained prior to starting any construction:
Zoning, Floodplain Development, Curb Street & Driveway, Zoning Use, Right of Way, and Stormwater

Commercial Building Permits (includes everything, except 1, 2 & 3 family dwellings) must be submitted for Plan Approval to the Washington County Building Department, located at 217 Putnam Street, Marietta, OH 45750, Phone 740-374-4185. In addition to the permit from the WCBD, applications for Business Use Permits Floodplain Development, Curb Street & Driveway, Zoning Use, Right of Way, and Stormwater are also required to be submitted to the Belpre Code Enforcement Office located at 715 Park Drive, Belpre, Ohio 45714, Phone 740-423-7592.
