Let's all be reminded that under Belpre City Ordinance 521.15:
BLOWING GRASS, WEEDS AND OTHER SUBSTANCES INTO CITY STREETS IS PROHIBITED.
The vegetation clogs the storm drain which is expensive to keep clear and flush. The debris in the roadway can also be dangerous to cyclist and motorists.
Here's how you can help: • Leave grass clippings on the lawn (they’re good fertilizer) • Mow away from the pavement • Sweep or blow clippings back onto the lawn • Make compost! Mix grass clippings with leaves and soil • Keep leaves off the street
If you have any questions or concerns about how you can help keep the storm drains clear, please contact me.
